Hello and welcome!

Building on the successful framework of the previous edition, “Laboratory Evaluations in Molecular Medicine,” I was honored to lead the task of updating and expanding content while adding extensive color figures, tables and case illustrations to make this book a valued clinician desk reference. As usual, the work of creating the new book led to many new insights about molecular mechanisms that lead to health or disease. Finding ways of expressing and illustrating those insights was challenging and educational for the authors.

My hope is that the new book will help lead to better understanding of human health and of how the clinical laboratory can provide tools to identify problem areas that respond to the gentle and effective therapies of focused nutrient additions and toxicant removals. It is time for the entire spectrum of healthcare providers to move toward the use of such assessments as a routine clinical protocol for patients with chronic diseases.
